5x7 print of my - Watercolor/mixed media
Hand made painting/ink drawings of the 2 major characters from the hit film and manga Akira. I used a color splash style for the background for each piece then drew and inked the characters over it. This pair includes Kaneda and Tetsuo. The film is intense and a classic animated hurricane of action and mystery, plus it features a lot of red. I chose these 2 because they are the most recognizable and main characters. The color palette on each piece is relatable to each individual character and red is the color that symbolizes the film. I added a paint splash effect with dark line work to outline the characters. I splash the color first with various brushes then draw over after it is dried.
